Special Announcement:
Many of you know that at their peak, drive-ins numbered over 4,000. Currently there are about 360 drive-ins left in the United States. By the end of this year we expect the number of drive-ins to drop considerably because they will not be able to afford to make the transition from film to digital due to the high cost. The switch to digital projection is quite expensive and includes major upgrades to the projection booth.
We are very excited to be opening soon with our new digital projection in place. I hope everyone has found the articles we posted informative. We have visited other drive-ins with digital in place and we think you will all be impressed at the difference.
We are not raising our admission prices as we try to keep the Aut-O-Rama Drive-In affordable for everyone, however, we have decided beginning with our 2013 season, that we will ban outside food and beverages from coming into the Aut-O-Rama Drive-In.
We know this will be a big change for some people, but we had to make this change in order to survive.
